About Our Client
Our client is a venture-funded, full-stack payments processor replacing legacy paper workflows with modern, API-driven digital payment solutions and wallet capabilities. Customers range from small businesses that use accounting-software integrations to large financial-services enterprises. Backed by top-tier institutional investors, the company is entering a rapid growth phase and needs an accomplished finance leader to own accounting operations, support fundraising, and shape the strategic narrative.
The Role
Reporting to the Founder / CEO, the Controller / Head of Finance will translate raw financial data into concise insights and board-ready presentations for investors and enterprise customers. You’ll refine accounting infrastructure, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and scale processes to support aggressive domestic and international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations (GL, AR/AP, revenue recognition, payroll, and tax)
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies in compliance with US GAAP
Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with auditors and tax advisors
Lead implementation and optimization of Accounting & FP&A systems and tools
Support fundraising, board reporting, and investor relations with accurate financial data
Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operations on financial and regulatory matters
Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team that can support rapid, global growth
Requirements
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
Prior experience in a high-growth FinTech or SaaS startup (Series A-C preferred)
Deep knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), consolidations, and multi-entity structures
Strong background in Accounting & FP&A systems; experience implementing new tools
Hands-on experience running payroll end-to-end (W-2 processing, payroll taxes, filings)
Proven success producing investor-grade financial models and presentations
