This position reports to the Vice President, Global Government Relations, Aerospace Technologies, and is based at 101 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
Job Description
Primary Function: Lead government relations for defense and space programs related to Honeywell's Aerospace Technologies Engines and Power Systems / Services and Connectivity Strategic Business Unit.
Qualifications
- Experience: Ten or more years in the U.S. Congress working for a Member or as professional staff in defense authorization or appropriations committees. Relevant experience in trade associations, public policy organizations, corporate government affairs, or legislative affairs is also considered.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate degrees in business, political science, policy, engineering, international relations, law, or similar are preferred.
- Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Congressional operations, authorizations, and appropriations.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a basic understanding of information technology.
Responsibilities
- Represent Honeywell to Congress and government agencies, developing advocacy and legislative campaigns.
- Manage Honeywell’s Political Action Committee (HIPAC) activities and support employee recruitment efforts.
- Analyze and disseminate legislative information relevant to the company's interests.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with policymakers.
- Provide strategic advice on legislation, regulations, and policies impacting the business.
Additional Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person due to export control laws, including U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with protected status.
