THE POSITION |
The Director, Fixed Income Product Management (FIPM) serves as a senior leader within the Product Management teams at Wellington. This role functions as a strategic partner and proxy to the Head of FIPM, playing a critical role in shaping and executing business strategy, driving growth across multiple fixed income product platforms, and managing global talent. The Director will lead strategic initiatives across key product teams—ensuring alignment with firm-wide objectives and investment platform priorities. This individual will collaborate closely with investment boutiques leadership team to support long-term strategic planning, manage transitions, and coordinate communications around PM changes.
In addition, the Director will work in partnership with the Client Group to drive commercial success, ensuring that product positioning and messaging resonate with client needs and market opportunities, and to implement commercial business plans across different channels. The role also includes oversight of talent development, hiring, and performance management, with a global perspective in coordination with the EMEA/APAC Director. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong business judgment, capable of navigating complex organizational dynamics and leading cross-functional initiatives. They will be action-oriented, collaborative, and adept at managing risk and change in a dynamic environment. Ideally the successful candidate understand the product management job functions and has a deep fixed income market knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic proxy to the Head of FIPM on business strategy, growth, and staffing matters.
- Lead and execute strategic growth initiatives across multiple fixed income product platforms.
- Partner with investment boutiques to manage long-term strategy, team transitions, and partner withdrawal communications.
- Collaborate with Client Group stakeholders to align product strategy with commercial goals.
- Provide external thought leadership and presentation on fixed income markets and trends to support Wellington fixed income’s brand and help to identify and advance business opportunities for growth.
- Oversee global talent management, including hiring, development, and performance calibration.
- Ensure alignment of team and individual goals with broader functional and firm-wide strategies.
- Identify, escalate, and manage business risks, ensuring appropriate oversight and mitigation strategies are in place.

- Proven ability to lead and drive business strategy across diverse product platforms.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to ensure alignment across investment and client-facing teams.
- Demonstrated experience in managing organizational risk and implementing oversight frameworks.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Experience in talent development and performance management in a global context.
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound business judgment.
