Job Description Summary
The Associate Chief Supply Chain Officer, Operations (ACSCO-Ops) is a senior executive leader responsible for designing, leading, and executing a comprehensive, integrated supply chain strategy across the MUSC Health enterprise. This high-impact role oversees end-to-end operational functions including field logistics, consolidated service center operations, procurement, inventory, internal distribution, courier management, accounts payable, and clinical supply chain alignment. The ACSCO-Ops ensures operational excellence, value creation, risk mitigation, and supply continuity across a complex, multi-entity Integrated Delivery Network (IDN).
The role requires deep expertise in healthcare operations, technology transformation, enterprise-wide contract management, and financial performance, with a strong emphasis on customer service, cost savings, and resilience. The ACSCO-Ops will lead supply chain operations to become a strategic enabler of clinical care, partnering closely with perioperative services, procedural leaders, finance, IT, legal, compliance, and the C-suite. This position also plays a pivotal role in M&A supply chain integration, emergency preparedness, and national best practice adoption.

Job Description
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership & Transformation:
- Design and lead an integrated supply chain strategy that supports MUSC's clinical, operational, and financial goals.
- Conduct operational assessments and lead transformation efforts including service line integration, standardization, and scalability.
- Oversee implementation of system-wide initiatives for cost reduction, value creation, and quality enhancement.
- Direct cross-entity coordination during M&A activities, ensuring seamless supply chain integration and continuity.
- Oversee ERP (Workday), WMS, POU technology, and AP automation to streamline operations and improve visibility.
- Develop and manage supply chain dashboards, KPIs, and advanced analytics to support executive-level decision-making.
- Drive the digitization of manual workflows across procurement, invoice reconciliation, distribution, and courier management.
- Manage internal distribution systems, consolidated service center operations, and courier networks across MUSC sites.
- Develop SLAs, SOPs, and escalation protocols for internal customer service, fulfillment accuracy, and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure continuity of operations during system disruptions, supply chain delays, and national shortages through advanced resiliency planning.
- Provide oversight of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) functions including purchasing, invoice processing, AP reconciliation, and supplier payment strategies.
- Drive automation within AP functions to reduce manual processing and enhance payment controls.
- Optimize working capital by improving cycle times, early pay discounts, and secure payment modalities (e.g., card-based programs).
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare supply chain leadership experience in a large, complex Integrated Delivery Network (IDN).
- Direct experience overseeing $1B+ in annual supply chain expense, with measurable impact on cost containment, sourcing, standardization, and operational efficiency.
- Experience in ERP (Workday), WMS, POU, AP automation, and supply chain analytics platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership in integrating systems post-M&A, building consolidated service centers, and aligning supply chain operations with organizational growth.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare supply contracting, vendor negotiations, GPO management, and compliance with federal and state purchasing regulations.
- Strong executive presence with experience presenting to Boards and C-suite stakeholders, and the ability to influence enterprise-level strategic decisions.
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred
