$104,550.00/yr - $172,200.00/yr

GEICO is looking for a well-qualified individual to join our Design Operations team. In this Senior role, you will be the connection between Design, Business and Development - ensuring experience design deliverables are on time, within scope and meet our standards of experience design excellence.
The candidate is responsible for the program management and operations of a multidisciplinary experience design team focused on initiatives for the Commercial business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and embodies diplomacy, problem solving and decisiveness to facilitate discussions among key stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
This position is a hybrid role that requires to be on-site 3 days a week at one of the following locations: Chevy Chase, MD; Chicago, IL; San Jose, CA; Fredericksburg, VA; Seattle, WA
Key Responsibilities
- Manage user experience design delivery schedules, effectively shifting priorities and making judgment calls quickly to ensure deadlines are met
- Plan project scope and objectives for Design in collaboration with Business and Development
- Manage project details and communications (decisions, action items, dependency tracking, risks, issues) to Design Leadership and key stakeholders
- Ensure that design deliverables meet experience design standards (e.g., design system and accessibility)
- Track key metrics to measure design impacts and effectiveness
- Assist Design Operations Leadership with management of budgets, contracts and software/tool licensing
- Contribute to frameworks and programs for the people and communities within the Design team: recruiting, hiring, onboarding, skills assessment and training, career ladders, recognition, team culture
- Bachelor's degree in design, business or related field
- 5 years of experience in design program management, design operations, design recruiting or a similar role or 3 years of experience and a Master's degree
- Experience managing UI/UX projects with common project methodologies (agile, iterative, waterfall)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Understanding of design practices as UI/UX Design, Content, Research, Conversational Design
- Understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking methods and experience design standards as accessibility
- Experience working with design systems and frameworks
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
$104,550.00 - $172,200.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
