Director of IT Business Systems (Chicago)

The Director of IT Business Systems is responsible for leading IT operations, support systems, and technology strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology best practices. This role will ensure the smooth operation of all IT functions, working in unison with our IT provider, and is responsible for managing all IT projects.

This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance business systems and processes, maximize technology and oversee technology strategies that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Systems Management:

• Work collaboratively with our Technology partner (Ciscom) to oversee IT Operations, including hardware, software, equipment tracking and management, to ensure seamless technological operations.
• Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Work with various departments to assess needs and identify opportunities to streamline processes through technology and automation.
• Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Spearhead vendor management, including contract negotiations and performance evaluations.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for organization.

Power BI & Data Analytics:

• Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports for business intelligence.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven insights.
• Optimize data models and improve report performance.
• Assist with employee training in best practices and analytical reporting.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT management or related roles.
• 2+ years of experience working with Power BI in a business environment.

Prerequisites

• Understanding of IT security, compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change.
• Strong understanding of business processes and how technology can optimize them.
• Proficiency in Power BI and data visualization.
• Experience in cloud-based business applications.
• Understanding of IT security, compliance, and risk management.
