The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leadership team member at Relentless Hospitality Collective (RHC) and its business entities, responsible for driving the financial vision, integrity, and performance of the company. The CFO plays a critical role in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation across all entities, including restaurants, catering divisions, and affiliate ventures. This role ensures the company's financial infrastructure supports rapid growth, innovation, and accountability while maintaining regulatory compliance, financial health, and organizational clarity.
The CFO acts as the chief architect of RHC and its business entities' financial strategies, partners with ownership and department heads to translate business goals into financial outcomes, and builds resilient financial systems and teams to sustain excellence across multiple entities.
WORK HOURS
This role is required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule is necessary based on business needs, with core availability Monday through Friday. Occasional nights, weekends, and travel to various locations or events will be required, particularly during financial close periods or key planning cycles.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES include but are not limited to :
STRATEGIC FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP
- Define and drive the company's long-term financial strategy in alignment with business expansion plans and market conditions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and ownership, contributing to strategic initiatives including M&A, capital investments, and growth models.
- Lead scenario planning and financial modeling for business development, partnership opportunities, and risk mitigation.
- Present high-level insights and board-ready financial data to executive leadership.
- Partner with the executive team to develop long-term financial plans aligned with strategic business goals.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to guide organizational growth and investment decisions.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.
ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING OVERSIGHT
- Direct and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP / AR, month-end / year-end close, and audit coordination.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and internal policies across multi-entity, multi-state operations.
- Guarantee timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and board dashboards.
- Establish accounting policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and compliance needs.
BUDGETING, FORECASTING, & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
- Lead the development, communication, and implementation of annual budgets across departments and locations.
- Oversee company-wide financial forecasting processes, integrating real-time performance metrics and business intelligence.
- Monitor department-level budget adherence and variance analysis, ensuring course correction and accountability.
- Collaborate with department heads to link operational metrics to financial outcomes.
- Develop short-term and long-term cash management strategies to ensure liquidity, solvency, and capital efficiency.
- Oversee banking and lending relationships, negotiate favorable credit facilities, and manage debt obligations.
- Recommend capital allocation plans to fund expansion, technology upgrades, and strategic projects.
- Monitor investment strategies and ROI for major expenditures and initiatives.
TAX COMPLIANCE & CPA OVERSIGHT
- Oversee company-wide tax planning, compliance, and filing in coordination with internal and external CPA partners.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of all local, state, and federal tax filings for all entities.
- Maintain a comprehensive calendar of tax reporting and payment deadlines to avoid delays or penalties.
- Proactively monitor changes in tax laws and adjust strategies and internal practices to maintain compliance and maximize financial benefit.
- Lead the preparation and organization of supporting documentation for quarterly and annual filings, audits, and financial reviews.
SYSTEMS & PROCESS OPTIMIZATION
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, and integration of financial and applicable business software (e.g., QuickBooks, Syft, Gusto, MarginEdge, POS integrations).
- Design and improve financial workflows for increased efficiency, data accuracy, and scalability.
- Identify automation opportunities and cost-saving initiatives that streamline accounting and reporting processes.
MULTI-ENTITY OVERSIGHT & CONSOLIDATION
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis across all business units including restaurants, catering, and affiliate entities.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, allocations, and consolidated reporting for transparency and accuracy.
- Ensure consistent application of financial procedures across all locations and business models.
CROSS-DEPARTMENTAL LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION
- Partner with the HR / People Management Team, Culinary, Operations, and Sales teams to align financial strategy with business goals.
- Serve as the financial leader in pricing strategy discussions, vendor contract analysis, and operational planning.
- Provide decision-support tools and cost-benefit analysis to enable informed operational choices.
- Actively participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic business discussions beyond finance.
TEAM LEADERSHIP AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT
- Directly supervise the Controller and finance / Accounting team, creating clear goals, KPIs, and development pathways.
- Translate complex financial data into strategic insights for stakeholders.
- Cultivate a high-performance team culture that values innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Identify and address staffing gaps or training needs within the finance function.
- Drive a culture of financial literacy and ownership across senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; CPA and / or MBA highly preferred.
- Experience : 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including multi-entity, multi-unit hospitality or service-based environments.
- Demonstrated success as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance executive in a dynamic and scaling organization.
- Deep understanding of hospitality finance, cost control, payroll, compliance, and capital planning.
- Expert proficiency in financial systems, budgeting tools, and Excel modeling; experience with QuickBooks, POS systems, and restaurant platforms (e.g., MarginEdge, Gusto) preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.
