Wisk is seeking a proven manufacturing leader—ideally with experience in aerospace, automotive, or other complex manufacturing industries—to lead the execution of our current Production System and help architect the next generation of our manufacturing operations. As a Director of Manufacturing, you will play a key role in shaping and scaling Wisk’s manufacturing capabilities to support high-rate production of our aircraft in the coming years.

You will lead our in-house production shops—including composites, power and propulsion, the machine shop, and emergent operations—ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-effective output. - Contribute to the design of factory process flows, conceptual layouts, and strategic decisions related to our future high-rate production facility—including location selection and factory commissioning.
- Oversee the execution of Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and plan for ramp-up to Full Rate Production, including resource planning and team scaling.
- Support the development of systems and processes required to obtain a FAA Part 21 Production Certificate.
- Collaborate with engineering, production engineering, and quality to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and robust new product introductions (NPI).
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and lead their execution through a team of direct and matrixed reports.
- Lead and grow a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Own and manage annual production budgets, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership and operations, communicating risks, milestones, and priorities clearly and effectively.
Required
- B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
- 15+ years of manufacturing experience in high-complexity environments, with 3–5 years in senior leadership roles managing cross-functional teams.
- Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, with a strong track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Experience leading factory operations, including shop floor management, process development, and team leadership.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills, with the ability to lead through influence and build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel ~10% to visit suppliers or benchmark facilities.
Preferred
- M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Engineering Systems, or a related discipline.
- Experience with composites manufacturing and emerging materials.
