Summary
This is important supervisory work involving responsibility for managing the flow of students in the IYIP, SNAP, Milestone programs (education, job placement, life skills preparation). Duties include ensuring students receive proper services and referrals, supervising daily work related to lectures, classroom, and laboratory assignments. Responsibilities also include inventory control, cost estimates, budget requests, purchasing supplies, and preparing reports and documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Within the scope of program policies and procedures, the duties are as follows:
- Apply performance standards written by DHS SNAP, IYIP, and Milestone grants
- Work closely with all aspects of the programs, including enrollment, recruiting, case management, employers, community organizations, and social service agencies
- Coordinate with the Case Manager to ensure students receive appropriate services and referrals
- Ensure all students are enrolled into Illinois WorkNet and complete assessments such as Life Skills Training, Career Cluster Inventory, and Employment 101
- Ensure students receive supportive services, individualized case plans, and re-engagement in education for out-of-school youth
- Assist in preparing course proposals, curricula, and specifications
- Maintain standards of quality in operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures, implementing changes as needed
- Implement and evaluate standardized instructional practices
- Assist in recruiting students and supporters through participation in job fairs, recruiting events, and related activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Must pass a background check
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma with seven (7) years of management experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Possession of a valid Illinois Driver's License throughout employment
- Computer proficiency, including word processing and internet skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with flexibility to adapt content and style to meet participant needs
- Demonstrated customer service skills and consideration for others
- Ability to quickly learn and facilitate curricula with accuracy
- Ability to analyze various points of view and data to form appropriate perspectives
- Ability to identify problems early and provide support as needed
Skills Requirements

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of standard practices in automotive and financial insurance
- Skills to understand or perform routine vehicle maintenance following established protocols
