Job Description
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is recruiting a strategic, inspirational and dynamic leader to take on the role of Vice President, Strategy Realization. The Vice President, Strategy Realization reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the COO. The VP of Strategy Realization is a key member of the global leadership team who partners closely with other senior leaders across the HFH network (affiliates and National Organizations) to enable delivery of Habitat for Humanity International’s (HFHI) Strategic Plan and realize the intended impact of the organizational and financial investments made towards advancing Habitat’s mission.
This role is responsible for managing the overall portfolio of strategic initiatives and operating plans, strengthening delivery of complex project and cross-functional teams, building organizational readiness and providing visibility to progress while ensuring that executive prioritization decisions are carried out. The VP of Strategy Realization plays a central role in supporting, facilitating and the enabling of successful execution of HFHI’s most significant enterprise change efforts. These include implementation of our digital modernization roadmap (Workday HCM), advancement of the Collaborative Operating Model (COM) in partnership with U.S. affiliates, and execution of multi-country initiatives.
As the head of the Strategy Realization Office (SRO), the VP drives program management, stake holder engagement, and integrated planning ensuring national and regional alignment with global priorities. This position also reports regularly to the CEO, COO, Senior Management team, Operating Leadership team, and additional stakeholders for continuous alignment as the strategic plan is transformed into action.

Key Responsibilities:
Translate HFHI’s strategic priorities into a dynamic, enterprise-wide portfolio of initiatives, ensuring coordinated execution across global functions, geographies, and national organizations. (20%)
Partners with sponsors of strategic initiatives like Unify, the Collaborative Operating Model (COM), and 50 for 50 initiatives through structured planning, performance reviews, and risk management assessment to ensure their full realization. (20%)
Strengthen Change leadership and organizational readiness by equipping leaders with tools, coaching, and support needed to lead through multi-layered organizational transformations. (20%)
Build and scale HFHI’s continuous improvement culture by embedding methodologies such as LEAN, Agile, and Kaizen, fostering real time learning and after-action reviews. (15%)
Develop and deploy enterprise-wide project and change management frameworks, tools, and standards that enable consistent delivery and foster initiative interconnectivity. (10%)
Proactively connect interdependent workstreams across regions and functions to break silos, increase coherence, and maximize delivery impact across strategic initiatives. (10%)
Lead annual and multi-year enterprise planning cycles in close alignment with finance, and in partnership with Area Offices and National offices (5%)
Education :
MBA, or graduate degree in business administration, economics, international development or a related field.
Proven experience and/or exposure to the international development/non - profit sector.
Candidates with significant executive-level accomplishments in global or cross-sector environments will be considered in lieu of advanced degrees.
Years of Related Experience :
Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in strategy execution, program delivery, change management, or enterprise planning.
7 years in a global, matrixed organization, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Proven ability to convert strategic priorities into an integrated, evolving portfolio of enterprise initiatives.
Extensive international experience supporting major organizational change efforts, across multiple functions or regions.
Skilled in applying structured change methodologies to build organizational readiness and sponsor engagement.
Managed complex programs or enterprise-level initiatives using structured delivery frameworks.
Subject matter expert with improvement methodologies like LEAN, Six Sigma, Agile, or Kaizen.
Comfortable facilitating after-action reviews and embedding real-time learning into planning processes.
Experience coaching initiative leads and supporting interdependent project teams.
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills across cultures and levels of leadership.
Track record of mobilizing distributed teams and enabling high-trust collaboration in matrixed environments.
Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):
Familiarity with global humanitarian, nonprofit, or social enterprise models is highly desirable.
Preferred certifications and training in change management (CCMP) and/or project/program management (PMP/PgMP)

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $191,250 to $225,000.
