Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.
The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.
With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through construction with a clear path toward operational readiness. Summary :
As Site Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , you will serve as a key strategic partner to the COO and collaborate with corporate Finance and Legal to oversee site-level financial operations. You will lead all administrative functions related to Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology, and Legal Contracts. The Site CFO is instrumental in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and proactive business planning during the critical transition through construction to production.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and improve site financial reporting processes including month-end close, production cost reporting, standard costing, and inventory control.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in all financial outputs and KPIs.
- Oversee reconciliation and validation of financial data, ensuring completeness and integrity.
- Implement ERP system to initially manage construction period and the transition to operation.
- Co-ordinate tax filings with accountants and external auditors
- Build and manage finance team
- Manage relationship and reporting with debt providers
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Develop and manage site-level CAPEX and OPEX budgets in alignment with project milestones.
- Provide detailed variance analyses and strategic insights to senior management.
- Design and deliver robust performance reports and dashboards to support decision-making.
- Lead site cash flow forecasting, monitoring, and optimization.
Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of capital assets in accordance with IFRS guidelines.
- Ensure proper classification, cost center alignment, and useful life assessment.
- Coordinate and oversee periodic physical asset verifications.
Cost & Production Accounting
- Develop a clear cost structure for mining and processing activities, including standard cost models.
- Support production planning by analyzing volume, labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Lead inventory management processes for raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance internal controls and financial procedures.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and risk mitigation in accounting workflows.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and strong governance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of managerial leadership in financial roles, ideally within the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, budget management, and financial controls in a project-based environment.
- Prior experience in construction project or mine development accounting is a strong asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and modern accounting / ERP systems.
- Exposure to internal and external audits.
