A venture capital investment firm is looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to join its growing fund finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible the timely, accurate, consistent and reliable preparation and maintenance of the financial records for the Company’s limited partnership investment vehicles (the “Funds”) and their respective general partner entities (the “General Partners”).

• Managing the third-party administrator in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual fund reports including financial statements, capital account summaries, footnotes, waterfall calculations, and fund performance
• Monitoring bank activity, including reviewing administrator prepared weekly cash flow projections, investor capital activity (i.e.: capital call and distribution calculations), and investment funding
• Preparing quarterly valuation of portfolio investments in accordance with ASC 820
• Managing the annual audit process and preparation of the tax returns for the Funds
• Reviewing administrator prepared quarterly General Partner financial reporting
• Coordinating processing of fund expenses in collaboration with the management company finance team
• Collaborating with the legal, investment, investor relations, and corporate development teams on legal documents, investor requests, marketing materials, and other ad-hoc projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related business degree; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• 3-5 years of professional experience at a public accounting firm - audit or tax, venture fund, or both
• Experience with fund accounting, including valuations, waterfall calculations, and performance reporting
• Experience in venture capital funds or private equity funds
• Experience managing third-party administrators (Strongly preferred)
• Experience with iLevel and Chronograph (preferred)
• Experience with partnership taxation (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Other Requirements:

• The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of work experience with a mix of both public accounting and venture funds.
• Valuation experience strongly preferred.
