Job Description Summary
The Chief Innovation & Digital Officer (CIDO) will lead the GE HealthCare Imaging Segment’s innovation strategy across digital, software, and technology platforms, overseeing the full lifecycle of new product development, installed base enhancements, and seamless updates. This leader will be an active, collaborative member of the Imaging leadership team, central to shaping the future of GE Healthcare’s Imaging portfolio - delivering scalable, AI-powered, cloud-first software solutions that enhance clinical impact, accelerate growth, and strengthen competitive edge.In addition to owning the Imaging Segment’s New Product Innovation (NPI) process and roadmap, the CIDO will focus on delivering interoperable, high-impact digital capabilities that improve R&D ROI and enable the development of modern software platforms at scale. The role will lead a large global software organization across several countries, while also providing functional leadership for Imaging R&D in areas such as technology processes, career development, and capability building.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Vision
- Own the end-to-end technology strategy for Imaging, aligning hardware and software platforms with business goals and customer needs, including inorganic growth (build, buy, partner), advanced technology development, and leverage of internal capabilities to accelerate progress.
- Define and lead the Imaging Segment’s digital platforms, AI, and cloud technology strategies in alignment with business objectives, driving platforming and interoperability across product lines and enabling scalable innovation and faster time-to-market.
Business Impact and Growth Enablement
- Collaborate with commercial and product leaders to deliver digital initiatives in alignment with expected delivery timelines that boost revenue, expand margins, and enhance customer value— translating business needs into actionable digital roadmaps that improve R&D ROI and operational efficiency.
- Establish KPIs to measure the ROI of digital investments and ensure alignment with Imaging’s P&L goals.
Customer-Centric Innovation
- Embed user feedback, clinical insights, and market trends into the digital product lifecycle championing a customer centric approach.
- Enhance customer experience through intuitive, secure, and high-performing digital solutions.
Data Strategy and Governance
- Define and oversee the Imaging Segment’s data strategy, ensuring secure, compliant, and value-driven use of data across platforms.
- Ensure rigorous design controls, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance across all software and device innovations.
- Leverage analytics and AI to unlock insights that inform product development and business decisions.
Software Delivery and Architecture
- Lead the architecture and delivery of modern, cloud-native platforms and AI-driven applications, enabling recurring revenue.
- Own the program management process and system of record for both device and software innovations, emphasizing safety, quality, security, and time-to-market.
Cross-Functional and Ecosystem Leadership
- Direct Imaging Segment worldwide product planning to determine technology investment roadmaps for both device and software solutions.
- Drive cross-functional alignment across R&D, product, commercial, IT, and operations teams to ensure cohesive architecture, solution interoperability, and execution.
- Build strategic partnerships with technology providers, startups, and academic institutions to accelerate innovation.
Organizational Leadership and Culture
- Ensure the organization is structured for agility, scalability, and cross-functional collaboration, enabling a modern software business through Agile, DevOps, Design Thinking, and Lean practices.
- Build and inspire high-performing, purpose-driven teams across geographies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, software engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of leadership in digital, software, or technology roles.
- 5+ years leading global, cross-functional in a global, matrixed environment
- Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation, ideally in healthcare or regulated industries
- Willingness and ability to travel (25%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a senior technology leadership role within a cloud-native or AI-driven environment.
- Deep understanding of SaaS models, digital product management, and agile software development.
- Strong business acumen with a track record of linking digital strategy with financial results.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
Prior experience in the regulated medical device or healthcare technol
