The Director of Accounting will join the Finance & Accounting team to scale financial operations efficiently and compliantly. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role manages and mentors the accounting team, including the Manager of Accounting. Responsibilities include overseeing monthly and quarterly close processes, coordinating annual external audits, managing tax policy and compliance, maintaining internal controls and accounting policies, supervising operational accounting areas, and collaborating cross-functionally to align accounting with business operations. The role requires CPA certification, 10+ years of accounting experience including Big 4 public accounting and in-house roles, audit experience, strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and leadership skills. The position supports a remote-first company culture with a hybrid option for those based in San Francisco. Compensation ranges vary by state, with examples provided for California, New York, Washington, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina.
