Job Description

Milton Hershey School, a cost-free private residential school for children from pre-K through 12th grade, is seeking compassionate, mission-driven House Parents to live in and manage student homes on campus.

As a House Parent, you will create a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment for a diverse group of students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

You will model positive behavior and strong character, provide daily supervision and guidance, and help students develop life skills such as responsibility, respect, and teamwork.

Working closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you will coordinate routines, homework time, meals, chores, recreation, and transportation to school activities, appointments, and events.

House Parents support students’ educational progress by reinforcing study habits, encouraging participation in extracurricular programs, and communicating regularly with school personnel about student needs and achievements.

In alignment with Milton Hershey School’s culture of diversity, personal growth, and holistic support, you will foster an inclusive home atmosphere where every child feels valued and empowered.

Responsibilities include maintaining a well-organized and clean home, administering basic health and safety procedures, documenting student incidents and progress, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.

Ideal candidates are patient, empathetic, and able to set clear expectations while providing consistent structure and emotional support.

This full-time residential role requires a strong commitment to student well-being, the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, and the desire to make a meaningful, long-term impact on students’ lives.
