Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in our Chicago office. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing all aspects of litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, and be self-driven, hardworking, and detail-oriented. Responsibilities Included  

• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, status calls, pretrials, and trials 
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, legal memoranda, and other legal documents 
• Conduct thorough legal research and write briefs  
• Manage all aspects of written discovery 
• Prepare and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts 
• Participate in mediations 
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court  
• Review case materials and draft evaluations, status reports, and litigation updates 
• Assist in developing systems to manage deadlines and collaborate efficiently with other attorneys 
• Litigate and defend general and complex tort matters on both local and national levels 

Qualifications  

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school 
• Active Illinois Bar membership (in good standing). 
• additional licenses are a plus 
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar): 1-2 years ( Required ) 
• Litigation Experience: 1-2 years ( Required ) 
• Trial Preparation Experience: 1-2 years ( Required )  
• Deposition and discovery experience: Preferred 
• Clerkship experience and prior work at a peer firm : Preferred 
• Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal representation. 
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases. 
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
