Intermountain Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Resource Pool professional to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department.

As a Resource Pool RN, you will provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care across multiple inpatient units and/or clinical settings, flexing to areas of greatest need throughout the hospital or system.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using evidence-based practices, collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, fellow nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.

In this highly dynamic role, you will rapidly adapt to different specialties such as medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, emergency, or other assigned areas, utilizing strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and time-management skills to prioritize care for diverse patient populations.

You will administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, perform and interpret clinical assessments, and respond promptly to changes in condition and emergency situations, following all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

A key component of this position is effective communication with patients and their families, providing clear education on diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and self-care, while demonstrating empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity.

You will document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

This full-time position typically follows a rotating schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with differential pay for eligible shifts.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced acute-care environment and be willing to float between units as staffing and patient needs require.

A current Registered Nurse (RN) license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and other specialty certifications (such as NIH Stroke Scale certification) may be required or preferred based on assigned units.

Prior acute-care hospital experience is strongly preferred, particularly in medical-surgical or step-down environments, and familiarity with electronic health records, IV therapy, and core nursing skills is essential.
