Job Description
MLK Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN Med Surg/Tele nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in serving the diverse and historically underserved communities of South Los Angeles.
As a Registered Nurse on our Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, many of whom require continuous cardiac and telemetry monitoring.
Working in our modern, nonprofit safety-net hospital, you will play a critical role in promoting excellent clinical outcomes, health equity, and a dignified patient experience.In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, administer medications and treatments, monitor complex clinical conditions, and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms for early identification of changes in patient status.
You will manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment, utilizing strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice to prioritize interventions and escalate care when necessary.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, ensure safe transitions, and support discharge planning.You will be responsible for maintaining meticulous and timely electronic documentation, adhering to all hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols.
You will provide clear education and compassionate support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and self-care, using culturally competent communication that reflects the community we serve.
