ChristianaCare is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem 84 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department.

In this per diem role, you will deliver direct nursing care to a diverse patient population while enjoying the flexibility of variable scheduling and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovative environment.The Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem 84 is responsible for providing safe, evidence‑based nursing care across the continuum, including comprehensive patient assessment, planning and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and continually evaluating patient responses.

You will utilize strong clinical judgment to prioritize care for multiple patients, coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and serve as a key advocate for patients and their families.

Using ChristianaCare’s electronic medical record system, you will complete timely, accurate documentation that reflects the patient’s condition, interventions, and outcomes.In this role, you will perform thorough head‑to‑toe assessments, monitor vital signs and clinical status, manage IV therapy and infusion pumps, perform wound care and dressing changes, and provide care for patients with a range of acute and chronic conditions.

You may support telemetry monitoring, respond to changes in patient condition using established protocols, and participate in rapid response or emergency situations as appropriate to your assigned unit.

A strong focus on infection prevention, safety practices, and compliance with regulatory and organizational policies is expected in all aspects of care.The RN Per Diem 84 functions as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions throughout the hospital stay and discharge process.

You will participate in patient and family education, explaining diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow‑up instructions in a clear, compassionate manner that supports understanding and self‑management.
