Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate OR RN (Registered Nurse) to join our healthcare and medical services team in Mattoon, IL.

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care to surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Working within the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that each procedure is performed efficiently, safely, and with the highest standards of patient care.In this role, you will be responsible for all phases of perioperative nursing, including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative support, and post-anesthesia recovery as needed.

You will verify patient identity and surgical site, review consents, confirm allergies and medical history, and help prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery.

During procedures, you will function as a circulating nurse and, when appropriate, as a scrub nurse, ensuring proper aseptic technique, maintaining a sterile field, managing instruments and supplies, and accurately documenting all aspects of the case in the electronic medical record.

You will monitor vital signs and patient responses to anesthesia and procedures, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and act promptly and calmly in emergent situations.Your responsibilities will also include implementing and adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols, performing safe medication administration, counting and reconciling surgical instruments and sponges, and assisting with positioning and transport of patients.

You will participate in pre-op and post-op patient and family education, explaining procedures, expected outcomes, and discharge instructions to support a smooth recovery process.
