Job Title: RN - Pediatric Infusion Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric Infusion Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Required License Certifications: PALS, BLS, APHON Must-Have: Experience with infusions for the pediatric population is essential. Experience in pediatric oncology and hematology in an outpatient setting is preferred. Experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but strong inpatient experience will be considered. Description: The RN Pediatric Infusion position involves working in an outpatient infusion center. The unit has 25 infusion rooms and 2 procedure rooms. The department typically operates at 50-60% capacity daily. The patient ratio is 1 RN to 3 patients. Infusions and treatments focus on various specialties including hematology, oncology, neuro-oncology, GI, and endocrine disorders. Support staff include CNAs for rooming patients and vital signs, a receptionist, and a charge nurse. There is no phlebotomy staff, but an IV/VAT team is available. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and specific infusion and monitoring equipment. Under this role, there is no floating to other areas. Weekend rotation is every fourth weekend. Holiday expectations require working 75% of holidays. Scheduled shift times can vary throughout the week. Navy blue scrubs are required, with options for pediatric-friendly tops. The work environment is described as having a great team atmosphere.
