Rang Healthcare is seeking a local contract nurse RN Oncology for a local contract nursing job in Moab, Utah. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 52 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Local Contract RN - Oncology Shift: 3x12 Days location: Moab, UT Rural nursing at its finest! Due to the rural location of MRH, this position works closely with a small group of patients and understands the value of cultivating nourishing relationships. The right candidate will be excited to perform a wide range of general nursing duties and specialize in infusion therapy and chemotherapy. Responsibilities: Provides direct nursing care in accordance within established scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, procedures and protocols, values, and mission of the healthcare organization. Conducts and documents thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy infusion sessions. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Safely administers simple to complex infusion therapy for chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments. Monitors and document vital signs, symptoms, and overall response to treatment. Monitors for and manages side effects, both acute and chronic, and documents appropriately. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including discharge needs, initiating referrals for physical, financial, spiritual, and psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching Implements and monitors patient care plans. Participates in quality improvement initiatives May precept student nurses and new hires. Maintains professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. Will float between oncology/infusion and wound care departments Minimum requirements: Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse reactions to medications/treatments Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to maintain same in situations with rapidly changing circumstances Self-motivated and able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team Great customer service and communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills Able to receive and manage sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times Able to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally; emotionally mature Reliable and timely with work schedule Flexibility and willingness to accept other duties as assigned “We are an equal opportunity employer.
