Certification Details BLS State Radiologic Technologist License (Utah) Mammography Certification Job Details Performs radiographic mammography procedures to produce high quality diagnostic films for breast tissue abnormalities. Works independently with a variety of procedures requiring judgment, creativity, and initiative. Ensures proper patient identification and order verification. Performs radiologic mammography exams including advanced procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages. Operates mammographic equipment to produce diagnostic images. Uses radiation protection to ensure safety and meets ALARA program requirements. Maintains records required by JCAHO and Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control. Keeps current on new procedures and equipment to maintain high skill level. Job Requirements Demonstrates positioning competency. Knowledgeable about breast self-examinations and able to provide patient education. Physical abilities include lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking. Preferred experience in Imaging or Mammography.
