Position Summary: A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) provides specialized care to expectant mothers throughout the childbirth process—from admission to postpartum recovery. The L&D nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby by closely monitoring progress, managing complications, and providing emotional support. Responsibilities: Monitor fetal heart rate, maternal vital signs, and labor progression. Administer medications, including epidurals and oxytocin, as ordered. Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures. Provide support, education, and reassurance to mothers and families. Manage postpartum care and monitor for complications after birth. Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital protocols.
