Job Description
Department/Unit:Quality Management Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $60,367.47 - $90,551.20 The Quality Management Coordinator II chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data and help coordinate projects as assigned by interacting with internal staff, external QIT team contacts or others involved in clinical performance improvement activities. This is accomplished through high-quality data compilation, documentation and entry and solid project management techniques. The Quality Management Coordinator works closely with other quality management staff or sometimes directly with staff outside the department to identify and bring forward opportunities for clinical improvement identified through registry participation, acting as a CE based on review of records in a population. Review includes patient-identifiable and sensitive information regarding adherence to care pathways, policies, protocols, and/or evidence-based medicine set fourth by nationally recognized organizations. Care may also be summarized and entered in the hospital's mortality and morbidity reporting system for further requests for follow up outside the department. Essential Functions Identifies patients for inclusion in the program or registry through the application of inclusion/exclusion criteria and protocols. Collects data components in accordance with data dictionary / specification manual, through the effective utilization of the hospital medical record and information systems. Is an advanced end user of the AMC EMR for lookup and navigation, including EDM. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into clinical registries. Qualifications Education Education Level Education Details Required/ Preferred Vocational School Diploma RHIA, RHIT, LPN/LVN, RN or related 2-year degree working within an EMR and/or collecting clinical information required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree in a related field required Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate Work Experience Experience Experience Details Required/ Preferred RHIA, RHIT, LPN/LVN, RN or related 2-year degree 5 years experience in a healthcare environment required or BSN 3 years’ experience in a healthcare environment required or Work Experience Experience Experience Details Required/ Preferred Bachelor's in a related fiel 5 years in a healthcare environment including collecting or reporting healthcare information and/or use of an EMR required and Medical record review / completion and /or electronic medical record experience preferred and Experience working directly on improvement projects/teams for quality improvement or patient safety pre Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!
