Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patient's plan of care. Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of the populations served. Assigned responsibility and accountability for an individual or group of patients during a designated time frame. The float nurse provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care and designated competencies. Promotes and maintains quality patient care and assists in teaching nursing staff. Training and Continued Education Opportunities for further education and training are available to our employees. Minimum Education Must be a graduate of a school of nursing and hold current registered nurse license recognized by the Virginia State Board of Nursing. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is required in critical care, ED, PACU, or similar. Must respond within 60 minutes if placed on call. Required Licenses Current RN license required BLS required ACLS, PALS, NIH Education, and Handle with Care are required within 12 months.
