Pay Information $2,325 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU/Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Rotating Weekends and Holidays Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week, 1845-0715 Experience: Minimum 1 year of critical care experience, 1-2 years preferred License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Travel experience, ICU skill set, Bipap, Cpap, Mechanical Ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, post cardiac cath care required; preferred arterial line experience Description: Unit: Stepdown Number of Beds: 11 (increasing to 12 following expansion) Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patients Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients: Post-operative vascular Hemodynamically stable cardiac dysrhythmias CVA Sepsis Renal patients Stable acute MI Unstable angina Post Cardiac Cath with PCTA or a significant blockage Experience Requirements: Must have ICU skill set due to potential to float Responsibilities include managing Bipap, Cpap, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, critical drips, and post cardiac cath care CRRT and IABP experience preferred Common Titratable and/or Set Rate Drips Include: Insulin Cardizem Heparin Amiodarone Low dose Dopamine Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Structure: Charge Nurse assigned in PCU House Supervisor available 24/7 Support staff includes one PCT for every 10 patients; nurses assist with general care and unit clerk duties Respiratory Equipment Available: Cpap Bipap High flow oxygen Mechanical ventilation Specialty beds IV pumps Monitoring: 24/7 monitor technician available Registered Nurses read strips Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Rotational Floating Requirement: Required to float to Med-Surg Telemetry if not needed in Stepdown or ICU; also required to float to the Emergency Department for boarded patients Scrub Color/Dress Code: Solid color scrubs only; navy for RNs/LPNs, dark grey/pewter for techs Solid color fleece zip-ups permitted in certain colors Closed-toe shoes only; no crocs Nursing orientation involves general hospital orientation followed by nursing-specific training and two preceptor shifts Cancellation Policy: Cancellation policy applies as per shifts in 13-week assignments and shorter durations Charting System: EPIC 27938450EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS BLS Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing A diverse portfolio of experiences adds depth to your professional profile.
