Unit L&D/PP/MB (Maternal Child Health) - L&D Beds 18 LDRP - OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections? 2 - Triage beds 2 - Postpartum beds 18 LDRP 8 overflow Postpartum - Births per day? Month? Year? 100-140/month - Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? AWHONN for labor and state ratio 1:4 for Postpartum - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, NRP - Common diagnoses/Types of patients Pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes Experience or 'Must have' skills Experience with vaginal exams, circulating c-sections, AWHONN fetal monitoring Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pitocin and insulin Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? We try to have the charge nurse without an assignment Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Yes, surgical tech OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? OB 24/7, Peds hospitalist 24/7, Neonatologist day-shift, then on-call Anesthesia in house 24/7? Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Yes Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? RN not required to read strips. Stips monitored by central telemetry tech. We use Phillips monitors. EFM System Epic Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) No self or block scheduling. Shifts assigned to meet unit needs. Weekend Requirements As needed to cover the unit Holiday Requirements As needed to cover the unit Is there a call or standby requirement? No Floating Requirements?
