Travel Nurse RN

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Teamwork oriented Description: CERNER required. Unit has 18 beds with fast track staffed with midlevels and aides. Ratios are 1 to 4 unless an ICU patient, which would be 1 to 2. Charge Nurse is the shift manager and a resource nurse. Nurse aides are EMTs or aides from other units. Weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Holidays include 1 major and 1 minor. Scrubs must be navy blue, including scrub jackets and undershirts. Telemonitoring is provided by Phillips. Ventilators are available. There is a hospitalist or intensivist in-house. No IV team is present. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7 with Omnicell access. Shifts are self-scheduled but finalized by management for balance. Block scheduling is not guaranteed. Floating may occur between facilities; notification is given 2 hours before shift if floated. Common diagnoses involve a diverse patient population, including correctional patients. OB cases are transferred out, and there are fewer pediatric patients. Teamwork is essential, as the unit treats between 85 to 115 patients daily, averaging 100. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting system is Cerner. BSN not required. Trauma level varies. Care setting is acute.
