RN-Medical/Surgical - Full-Time Night Shift($15,000 Sign On Bonus Available!) at Highpoint Health - Riverview with Ascension Saint Thomas summary: Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical/surgical unit during night shifts, including medication administration, clinical treatments, and patient monitoring. Collaborates with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, educate patients and families, and advocate for patient well-being. Supervises staff and manages unit workflow as needed, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and certifications. Description: Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. 36 hours/week Job Duties: Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Observes central monitor screens, interprets, recognizes and records changes in patient's rhythms and notifies nurse as appropriate. RN Charge responsibilities as needed. Will be responsible for supervising staff and determining staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow. Qualifications: Job Requirements: Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of employment License: Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure Minimum Work Experience Six months to one year experience as RN preferred. New Graduates will be considered.
