Job Summary

The Specialist - Equipment will provide operational support to the Fleet Manager and collaborate towards effective preventative maintenance, compliance, and utilization of the company shared trailer pool.

The position will report directly to the Fleet Manager and operate closely with the Tech Services, Fleet Services, Operations, and Billing groups.

This role will provide daily process and project support to the shared trailer pool to ensure QC achieves the highest-level utilization and reduction of down time of the shared trailer fleet in order to support operational growth, efficiency, and maximizing return on assets.

Duties/Responsibilities

Supports the compliance process to ensure all trailers within the shared trailer fleet are proactively maintained and compliant per the appropriate scheduled maintenance intervals and determined by organizational goals.

Proactively engage in review of equipment balance by region according to ongoing demand Proactively collaborates with regional planners and the Fleet manager to balance markets through re-positioning of idle equipment, as needed.

Provide appropriate and timely support pertaining to equipment maintenance needs with the goal of reducing downtime, assisting with receipt of estimates/invoices, and issuance of purchase orders.

Support equipment breakdowns and ensure each are immediately addressed facilitating appropriate communication and engagement with Operations, Fleet Services, Shop Personnel, and Tech Services.

Contribute towards identification of idle, underutilized trailers, and trailers dropped at customer locations through various internal reporting processes Communication with responsible terminals to understand root cause and corrective action Provide feedback and solutions to management to determine appropriate action plan to improve utilization of the asset Provides support on strategic initiative projects geared towards the continuous improvement of processes and reporting necessary for driving efficiency, increasing utilization, and decreasing downtime of the fleet.

Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.

Assists in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

Excellent communication skill and must thrive in a collaborative, teamwork environment Organized, detail oriented and ability to take initiative Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Experience with Gmail and Google Apps preferred Operations and/or Fleet Management experience preferred Familiarity with transportation industry and chemical tank equipment is a plus 2-4 years

Purchase orders/invoices 2 years

Excel /Spreadsheets/Data Entry Education and Experience

HS Diploma required Expected Travel

This position requires travel, Up to 10%.
