Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician III to join our team.
In this role, you will use your technical skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance, installation, testing, and repair in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and airworthiness of avionics systems, maintaining test equipment and tools, and contributing to a culture of safety and precision.
This is a Safety Sensitive Position with responsibility for the safety and security of personnel and property.
Key Responsibilities Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics components and systems on aircraft or aerospace platforms.
Route wires and fabricate harnesses per technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Perform precision soldering, crimping, and connector replacement in compliance with industry and company standards.
Interpret and apply technical documentation including blueprints, manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
Maintain, calibrate, and account for all test equipment, tools, and technical manuals.
Document all work performed accurately within maintenance tracking systems or MES platforms.
Adhere to all FCC, FAA, and company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Inspect, handle, or transport hazardous materials, explosives, or dangerous equipment as required.
Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery and continuous improvement.
Must-Have Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant avionics experience (a higher-level degree may substitute for experience; related experience may be considered in lieu of required education).
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
Proven ability to route wires and fabricate harnesses per technical drawings.
Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
Must possess own tools in good working order .
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with FCC regulations and FCC GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License).
Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and pitot-static equipment operation.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S.
Department of Defense, or U.S.
Military.
Active or prior Security Clearance.
IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-J-STD, or other electronics assembly certifications.
