Purpose Summary
As an Asphalt Paving Laborer, you will play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of roadways, parking lots, and other paved surfaces.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the asphalt paving crew in various tasks to ensure the successful completion of projects.
This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
Material Preparation
Assist in the preparation of construction materials, including loading and unloading of asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
Surface Cleaning
Ensure the work area is clean and free of debris before paving operations, which may involve using shovels, brooms, or other tools.
Equipment Operation
Operate hand tools and equipment such as rakes, shovels, and tampers to distribute and compact asphalt materials.
Assisting Crew Members
Work closely with the paving crew to facilitate a smooth workflow, including helping with the layout and alignment of pavement.
Traffic Control
Direct traffic around work areas as needed and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
Repair Work
Assist in repairing and patching existing asphalt surfaces by filling cracks and potholes.
Quality Control
Monitor the quality of work and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
Safety Compliance
Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your team.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment, and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
Physical Fitness
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Communication Skills
Effective verbal communication to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.

Dependability
Reliable attendance and commitment to completing assigned tasks on time.
Experience
Previous experience in asphalt paving or construction is preferred but not mandatory.
License
Valid driver's license is a plus.
Physical Requirements

Stamina to work outdoors for extended periods.
Ability to withstand exposure to various weather conditions.
