Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our client's healthcare team in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive cardiopulmonary care, including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, interpretation, and treatment of patients.

This role also involves consulting, offering technical direction, and providing instruction to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

THIS IS A NIGHT POSITION & ALTERNATING WEEKENDS.

Responsibilities

Patient Care

Perform assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and interpret results to develop appropriate treatment plans for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

Responsible for EKG's, intubations, running the vents, etc.

Treatment Administration

Administer therapeutic procedures and interventions, including respiratory treatments, ventilation management, and airway care.

Consultation

Provide expert consultation and guidance to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff regarding respiratory care practices and patient management.

Technical Direction

Offer technical direction and support to ensure optimal use of respiratory therapy equipment and adherence to best practices.

Education

Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care techniques.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards, maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of all patient care activities.

Requirements Education

Associate's Degree in Respiratory Science or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital environment preferred.

Licenses/Certificates

- Current New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RRT) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (to be obtained within 30 days of hire)
