Job Description Scientist, iPSC Differentiation San Francisco Bay Area About Oculus is partnered with a Bay Area biotech creating advanced iPSC‑based technologies designed to enable new applications in human biology and long‑term health innovation.

You will use mouse-derived stem cell platforms, including both embryonic and induced pluripotent lines, to establish robust methods and produce consistent datasets that can be adapted for studies in human models.

This role calls for someone with substantial hands‑on expertise in guiding stem cells through differentiation and a solid grasp of developmental biology.

The Role Develop and refine methods for generating and maintaining new induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines in model systems Culture, differentiate, and genetically modify pluripotent stem cells using modern genome‑engineering approaches Improve and standardize differentiation workflows to produce diverse cell types from pluripotent sources Lead experimental planning, troubleshooting, and protocol development for complex in‑vitro cell‑based studies Analyze experimental data, present findings to the team, and contribute to broader process optimization Maintain thorough documentation, data tracking, and clear communication of progress across projects Qualifications PhD in Cell, Developmental, or Stem Cell Biology Expertise in iPSC/ESC differentiation into complex cell types Strong foundation in developmental biology and stem cell biology, ideally in mouse systems Experience with computational techniques such as scRNAseq, Smart-seq2, ATAC-seq Strong scientific foundation evidenced by first-author publications in top journals Mission-driven mindset and enthusiasm for high-impact work
