You’ll perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy diesel equipment, while supporting a team that values safety, communication, and continuous learning.
Each day begins with a safety meeting and clear work order review, ensuring you know your priorities and have the support you need to succeed.
Pay
$24.00/hr - $26.00/hr Schedule
1st shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (voluntary OT Saturdays available) Environment

Class I mechanic hand tools Job Description
Attend the daily 7:00 AM safety meeting and follow all shop safety procedures.
Review work orders and live intake sheets with the shop supervisor and lead to understand daily priorities.
Perform general inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy diesel equipment.
Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical diagnostics to identify issues and determine repair paths.
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and construction-related equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide repair and maintenance tasks.
Work on components such as compressors, generators, concrete pumps, mixers, concrete trucks, forklifts, loaders, and excavators, depending on experience.
Perform basic labor tasks when needed, including physically demanding work.
Use hand tools and fabrication skills to complete repairs and equipment modifications.
Maintain accurate service documentation, including intake forms and repair sheets.
Collaborate with experienced team members for ongoing safety and technical training.
Properly care for and use personal Class I mechanic hand tools.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, self‑motivation, and consistent follow‑through.
Comply with all shop policies, including pre‑employment and ongoing safety and drug screening requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
1 years of experience working as a mechanic (automotive, motorcycle, diesel) Proficiency with mechanic hand tools and ownership of all required Class I tools.
Ability to perform inspections, PMs, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Ability to perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting skills across diesel, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery.
Basic computer skills for service reporting (preferred).
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
ASE certification.
Experience with geotechnical drill rigs.
Experience with concrete pumps, mixers, and concrete trucks.
Experience with compressors, generators, and other diesel equipment.
Experience with forklifts, loaders, and excavators.
Fabrication skills and experience working on auto, truck, or heavy equipment.
Prior work in industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environments.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commerce City, CO.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
