Mercury is seeking a Director of Contracts to join our Platform Systems contracts team.
Worksite location options:
- Hybrid: Commutable for 3 days in Torrance, CA office and WFH the rest of week based on business needs
- Remote: The remote option is not available for this role due to its duties
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages Contracts Business Unit staff (Contract Administrators, Managers and Sr. Managers), including conducting performance reviews
- Ability to coach and mentor less experienced contract personnel
- Reviews complex solicitations and prepares specialized/non-routine proposal responses in conjunction with proposal team
- Works with supervisor to develop corporate contract policies and procedures
- Presents weekly contract updates on business unit proposals and contracts to supervisor
- Trains staff regarding special provisions, terms and conditions, corporate policies and procedures, and FAR/DFAR provisions
- Drafts and/or reviews and redlines customer agreements
- Negotiates complex agreements, including master agreements, in accordance with company guidelines
- Develops and executes negotiation strategies to benefit the organization
- Maintains deadlines for internal and external customer requests
- Exemplifies creative problem-solving abilities
- Maintains contractual historical data; enters contract data into databases as needed.
- Tracks and analyzes contract compliance both internally and externally.
- Interfaces with program management, capture, sales, pricing, proposal, property, quality control and technical staff as needed.
Education and Experience Guidelines:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Management, or other related fields
- 10+ years of directly related experience with direct Government Defense customers or Government Prime customers
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must exemplify a strong attention to detail
- Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as MS Office
- Interface with all levels of the Executive/Management team to communicate project status and any issues that may affect work performance or increase risk
- Support as necessary all inter-company organizations with audits
- Experience with standard defense contract types (cost reimbursable (CR), firm fixed-price (FFP), time and materials (T&M), incentive-type contracts, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), etc.) and with all phases of contracting from pre-solicitation through completion/termination and contract closeout
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance
- Ability to work under pressure from internal and external customers at the end of each fiscal quarter
- Can be trusted to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and Government acquisition laws and regulations
Preferred but not required:
- Active DoD security clearance

Additional Information
Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $139,000 – 327,000 for a Non-Technical Expert/Director at Torrance CA USA.
The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
