This role is a 6 month fixed term contract based in our head office in Manchester City Centre - Union - and sits within our wider people team of over twenty People and Talent professionals.
You’ll work with a number of different key stakeholders - mainly Manchester based, however our spaces are based across Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham, and so there will be some expectation to travel (fully expensed) to attend meetings and manage key stakeholder relationships.What we’re looking for
It’s important you are a people/HR professional with a comprehensive knowledge of Employment LawExperience managing a high volume of ER casesBased on our values, a dedication to treating colleagues with care, compassion and respect is absolutely vitalThe ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of cases and driving efficiencies/improvements with the support of the wider People teamThe ability to coach and advise, understanding the difference in approach based on stakeholder knowledge and upholding our culture and valuesWhat you’ll be doing
You’ll manage complex and varied ER cases (including performance, absence, wellbeing, disciplinary, grievance, flexible working) and support managers in preparing for and holding meetings where neededYou will advise managers on policy and process, with a natural coaching style that puts our people and business at the heart of every decisionYou’ll help managers build capability in people management, identifying and escalating risk where appropriateYou’ll provide hands-on support to People Partners on organisational change activity including supporting consultation meetings, preparing invite letters, collating relevant documents and maintaining accurate recordsYou will assist with reviewing our people policies and processes, making sure they are fit for purpose and proactively seeking out improvementsYou’ll support data and reporting that will bring insight back to the team on people activity that is happening across the businessWe really believe that if you’re brilliant to work with, you deserve brilliant things in return:28 days holiday pro rata - plus you get your Birthday off work - and if that’s not enough you can also buy & sell holidays too24 hours a year volunteer time - there are endless opportunities for you to get involved in supporting the causes that matter most to youSabbatical of up to 12 months so you can take a career break after five years with usHealthcare cash plan for all colleagues, so you can claim back medical expenses like optical, dentist & physiotherapy.
