Finance Analyst | Global Publishing Business | London (Hybrid)Our client is a well-established business operating in the creative and media space, with a broad catalogue of content and a strong commercial focus.

The UK operation sits within a larger international structure and has a finance function that is genuinely embedded in how the business makes decisions.They are looking for a commercially minded analyst to join the team at a point where financial insight and digital performance are increasingly central to how the business operates.The RoleAs Finance Analyst, you will report to the Head of Commercial Finance and work closely with Finance Managers across the adult and children's divisions.

The role sits at the intersection of financial reporting and commercial decision-making, with a particular focus on digital publishing.Day to day, you will take ownership of weekly eBook sales reporting, manage divisional marketing and publicity budgets, and produce profitability reviews.

You will also handle the financial reporting of joint venture arrangements, sub-rights analysis, stock reporting, and sales analysis across multiple channels.

They’re looking for someone who can translate data into clear, practical insights that non-finance teams can act on.There are plenty of opportunities for progression, learning, and growth within this scaling, supportive environment—so this is a great role for someone early on in their career who’s keen to join a passionate, supportive team within an exciting industry.ResponsibilitiesTrack and report on digital sales performance week to week, pulling out the key trends and what they mean for the businessMonitor marketing and publicity budgets across divisions, flagging where spend is or isn't workingPartner with non-finance teams across the business, translating financial data into clear insights that support decision-making at all levelsSupport with the financial reporting for joint venture arrangements, including issuing statements to relevant partiesRun profitability reviews across titles and authorsProduce regular analysis across sub-rights, stock, and backlist salesSupport senior members of the finance team with reporting and analysis across the businessPull and manipulate large datasets in Excel to surface insights for the wider teamBuild a solid understanding of what drives performance across the business and how finance fits into that pictureAd hoc tasks to support the wider finance teamWhat We Need to See (Essential)2+ years’ experience in a finance role, where you’ve had exposure to some commercial or FP&A activityStrong Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.)Strong communication skillsPrevious experience in the media, entertainment or creative industriesA passion and love for books/the literary and publishing industryPackage

£35,000-£45,000Working Pattern
