Life SciencesWe are supporting a Life Sciences organisation in the UK looking to engage a Data Scientist on a 12-month contract to support high-impact work across drug discovery.This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data science, biology and discovery research, helping scientific teams extract value from complex experimental and computational data.You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across research and technology, applying advanced analytics and machine learning to support discovery programmes and improve scientific decision-making.What you will be doingApplying data science and machine learning approaches to drug discovery problemsWorking with complex scientific datasets including biological, omics, assay, imaging and/or molecular dataSupporting use cases across areas such as target identification, hit discovery, lead optimisation and translational researchBuilding robust analytical workflows, models and data pipelinesCollaborating with scientists and technical teams to translate research questions into practical solutionsCommunicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhat we are looking forProven experience as a Data Scientist within Life Sciences, Biotech or Pharmaceutical environmentsStrong Python and applied machine learning experienceExperience working with scientific or R&D datasets relevant to drug discoveryStrong grounding in statistics, modelling and data interpretationAbility to work effectively with biologists, chemists, computational scientists and wider technical teamsExperience across multi-omics, cheminformatics, imaging, molecular modelling or related discovery data would be highly beneficialNice to haveExperience with tools such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, RDKit or similarFamiliarity with cloud-based data science environmentsExposure to multimodal data or graph-based modelling approachesPrior experience supporting early-stage discovery or translational programmesContract details12-month contractUK-based roleCompetitive day rateImmediate or near-term start preferred
