Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and motivated Costs Lawyer to join their dynamic team.The RoleAs a Costs Lawyer, you will play a key role in managing and maximising costs recovery across a varied caseload.
You will work closely with fee earners and external stakeholders to ensure accurate drafting, negotiation, and recovery of legal costs.Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting and preparing bills of costs (including multi-track, fast-track, and fixed costs matters)Preparing Points of Dispute and RepliesConducting negotiations and attending detailed assessment hearings where requiredManaging costs budgets and costs management processesAdvising fee earners on costs strategy and complianceHandling inter partes and solicitor/client costs mattersEnsuring compliance with CPR and relevant costs rulesAbout YouEssential RequirementsQualified Costs Lawyer (ACL) or equivalent experienceProven experience drafting bills and managing detailed assessmentsStrong knowledge of CPR and costs case lawExcellent negotiation and communication skillsAbility to manage your own caseload with minimal supervisionDesirableExperience with costs budgeting and electronic bill formatsAdvocacy experience in detailed assessment hearingsFamiliarity with case management systemsWhat's On OfferCompetitive salary (based on experience)Hybrid/flexible working optionsGenerous holiday allowancePension schemeProfessional development and career progression opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative working culture
