TS/SCIJob Description:Provide applied geologic expertise in support of Department of Defense and Intelligence Community requirements across the U.S.
Africa Command (AFRICOM) Area of Responsibility.
Conduct geological analysis related to terrain, soils, bedrock, hydrology, geomorphology, and environmental conditions, and render into digestible information that can be understood by AFRICOM leadership.
Translate complex geologic data into clear, mission-relevant assessments and written products for senior leaders, planners, and operational staff.
Support time-sensitive and long-term projects by evaluating subsurface and environmental factors that affect mobility, construction feasibility, resource availability, and operational risk in austere and developing environments.Minimum Qualifications:4+ years of experience as a geologist or geoscientist supporting government, DoD, or national security missionsExperience conducting applied geologic analysis, including soil and rock characterization, hydrology, geomorphology, terrain stability, or environmental assessmentsExperience producing written technical reports, assessments, or analytical products for operational or decision-making audiencesKnowledge of geologic data sources and methodologies, including field data, laboratory analysis, scientific literature, and publicly available datasetsAbility to clearly brief senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams on geologic findings, risks, and implicationsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiencesTS/SCI clearanceBachelor’s degree in a Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science, or Geological Engineering fieldDesired Qualifications:Experience supporting projects or operations within the AFRICOM Area of ResponsibilityExperience with intelligence analysis and DIA analytic standardsExperience with geology of austere, remote, or developing environmentsExperience working with MASINT or large or complex geologic datasets, and summarizing findings for decision-makers
