This opportunity sits within a major UK energy business operating critical energy storage assets.
You’ll play a hands-on role in improving how data is captured, analysed and used to drive performance across industrial sites.This is a structured 24-month graduate programme designed to build strong analytical capability across the full asset lifecycle.
You’ll work with large, real-world datasets to support operational decision-making, improve efficiency and help optimise plant performance over the long term.What you’ll be doingSupporting the development and maintenance of a high-quality data ecosystem across energy assetsCollecting, cleansing and validating large datasets to ensure accuracy and usabilityBuilding dashboards, analytical models and reports to monitor performanceConducting trend analysis and generating early insights to support operational decisionsAssisting with performance investigations and identifying root causes of issuesCollaborating across engineering, operations and commercial teams to deliver data-driven insightsSupporting the automation of reporting and contributing to data pipelines and scriptingCommunicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersKey criteriaDegree (Bachelor’s 2:2 or Master’s) in a numerical or data-focused discipline such as Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or similarStrong analytical mindset with the ability to work with complex datasetsExperience with, or the ability to quickly learn, tools such as Python, SQL and Power BIClear interest in using data to solve real-world engineering or operational problemsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate data insights clearly to different audiencesProactive, curious and adaptable approach to learningComfortable taking ownership of tasks while collaborating within a teamDesirable experienceExposure to data modelling or statistical analysisExperience working with data pipelines or dashboard developmentAbility to simplify complex data into clear, actionable insightsLocationWales-based (site-specific role within an energy storage/hydro environment), with a hybrid working model where applicableWhat’s on offerStructured 24-month graduate development programme with increasing responsibilityHands-on experience working with real operational and engineering dataOpportunity to directly impact asset performance and efficiencyExposure to cross-functional teams across engineering, operations and dataSupportive environment with strong learning and development focusClear pathway into a long-term data, analytics or performance role within the businessDiversity and inclusionThis organisation is committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can contribute and thrive.
