This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults experiencing homelessness and complex challenges within a supportive community environment.Working alongside staff and volunteers, you will help create a safe, welcoming and empowering space where residents can feel respected, supported and encouraged to move forward positively.What you’ll be doingAs a Project Worker you will play a central role in supporting the day-to-day running of the service while building positive relationships with residents and volunteers.Your responsibilities will include:Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive and welcoming environmentSupporting residents using a person-centred and trauma-informed approachCarrying out wellbeing, safety and building checksManaging safeguarding concerns and responding calmly to incidentsSupporting residents with practical needs including bedding, toiletries and clothingEncouraging resident participation and engagement within the communitySupporting and guiding volunteers in their rolesMaintaining accurate records, reports and handoversHelping uphold health and safety, confidentiality and safeguarding proceduresWorking collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to reduce homelessness in the local communityThis role requires flexibility, emotional resilience and the ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive and compassionate team.We’d love to hear from you if you are:Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgementalCalm under pressure and confident handling challenging situationsOrganised, reliable and able to prioritise effectivelyA strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skillsComfortable working independently and using initiativePassionate about supporting vulnerable adults and promoting inclusionEssential experience and skillsExperience supporting adults experiencing homelessness, complex needs or challenging behaviourStrong organisational and record-keeping skillsGood IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookAbility to maintain professional boundaries and confidentialityA proactive, solution-focused mindsetDesirableExperience working within the charity sectorKnowledge of safeguarding and risk assessmentsFamiliarity with the Winchester/local areaWhat we offer25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)Pension schemeMedicash healthcare planOngoing training and development opportunitiesA supportive and collaborative team environmentThe opportunity to make a genuine difference every day
