Environmental Technician | £26,000 + bonus + expenses | Field Based UK - ad hoc visit to office Sheffield We’re looking for an Environmental Technician to join a growing Environmental team within a specialist Risk Management division.

This is a field-based role.This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, travelling to different sites, and building a long-term career within environmental consultancy or occupational hygiene.Role Overview:You’ll support environmental monitoring projects by carrying out on-site sampling, monitoring, data collection, and technical support activities.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you’ll help deliver accurate and compliant environmental assessments across industrial and commercial environments.This is very much a field-based position.

Most of your time will be spent on client sites rather than in the office.

While there will be occasional office visits, there is no set office attendance requirement.

Some weeks may involve no office time at all.Travel across the UK is required and, where necessary, hotel accommodation will be provided.

Overnight stays may occasionally be needed, although these are kept to a minimum and employees have flexibility to manage their own schedules.Mileage expenses are paid at the standard HMRC rate of 45p per mile.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Monitoring & Site WorkCarry out environmental sampling and monitoring on client sitesSupport occupational hygiene and environmental assessment activitiesCollect, handle, and process environmental samplesMaintain accurate field records, monitoring logs, and site documentationTravel to sites across the UK as requiredTechnical SupportAssist with planning and preparation for monitoring projectsSupport equipment setup, calibration, checks, and maintenanceEnsure all equipment is prepared and compliant before site workReporting & AdministrationSupport the preparation of technical reports and documentationAssist with administrative and project support tasksEnsure accurate recording and handling of environmental dataHealth, Safety & ComplianceFollow strict health & safety and risk assessment proceduresWork in line with technical, environmental, and quality standardsSupport ISO and compliance processes where requiredAbout You:Previous experience in environmental services, monitoring, or technical fieldworkInterest in environmental consultancy or occupational hygieneStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and manage site-based responsibilitiesGood communication and teamwork skillsFull UK driving licence preferredFlexibility to travel and occasionally stay overnight when requiredSuper opportunity to build a long-term career in environmental consultancyFlexible working style with autonomy over diary managementSupportive and growing technical team environmentMix of hands-on site work and technical development opportunities#EnvironmentalJobs #EnvironmentalTechnician #OccupationalHygiene #EnvironmentalMonitoring #FieldBasedRole #EnvironmentalConsultancy #TechnicalJobs #UKJobs #HiringNowFor more information contact Sheena
