We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Events and Operations Manager to oversee event delivery, operational logistics, staffing coordination, payroll administration, and supplier management.Role OverviewThe Senior Events and Operations Manager will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth planning and execution of catering events while managing day-to-day operational functions.
This role requires a hands-on professional with strong organisational, financial, and people management skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.The successful candidate will oversee event operations from enquiry to completion, manage staffing and payroll processes, coordinate supplier relationships, and ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent & Operations ManagementLead the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events of varying sizesManage operational logistics including staffing, transport, equipment, and venue coordinationEnsure all events are delivered on time, within budget, and to company standardsConduct event briefings and oversee on-site event management where requiredDevelop and improve operational systems and proceduresHandle last-minute operational changes and problem-solving effectivelyTeam LeadershipManage and supervise event staff, supervisors, and operational teamsCoordinate staff rotas and schedulingSupport recruitment, onboarding, and training of event staffMaintain high team morale and professional standardsPayroll & Finance AdministrationProcess weekly payroll accurately and on timeVerify staff hours, overtime, and event timesheetsMaintain payroll records and liaise with accountants/payroll providers where necessaryProcess and pay supplier invoices within agreed payment termsReconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepanciesAssist with budgeting, cost control, and financial reportingSupplier & Client ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and venuesNegotiate supplier pricing and service agreementsEnsure timely ordering of stock, equipment, and event suppliesAct as a key point of contact for clients throughout the event processMaintain excellent customer service and client satisfactionCompliance & AdministrationEnsure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulationsMaintain accurate operational and financial recordsSupport senior management with reporting and strategic planningRequirementsProven experience in event operations, hospitality, or catering managementStrong knowledge of payroll processing and invoice managementExcellent organisational and multitasking abilitiesStrong leadership and team management skillsAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced events environmentFinancially competent with attention to detailExcellent communication and client relationship skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and operational/accounting softwareFlexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends when requiredDesirableExperience within the catering or hospitality industryKnowledge of our accounts system XeroFull UK driving licenceWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryCareer progression opportunitiesDynamic and supportive working environmentStaff meals and event perksCompany pension schemeOpportunity to be part of an exciting and growing businessSalary
