Legal and Compliance Officer

An award winning, growing, innovative technology business is looking to hire a commercially minded Legal & Compliance Officer to support the next phase of its development.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and key business areas, helping to manage legal risk, strengthen governance, and ensure compliance across a complex, international operation.It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants visibility across a business, and is confident translating legal detail into practical, workable advice.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including supplier, distribution and service agreementsManage the full contract lifecycle and support commercial teams with risk assessmentLead on compliance across key areas including data protection, export controls and corporate governanceDevelop and maintain internal policies, procedures and compliance frameworksConduct risk assessments and support internal auditsProvide practical legal advice to stakeholders across the businessSupport HR with employment law matters and policy developmentAssist with intellectual property management, including patents and trademarksManage relationships with external legal advisorsSupport corporate governance activities, including company records and board documentationSkills & Experience RequiredSolid experience in a legal, compliance or risk-focused roleStrong background in drafting and negotiating commercial contractsGood understanding of regulatory frameworks, including data protectionAbility to provide clear, pragmatic advice to non-legal stakeholdersConfident working across multiple teams in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail with a commercially aware mindsetDesirableExperience within a defence, technology, engineering or manufacturing environmentExposure to international trade or export controlsUnderstanding of intellectual property processesExperience supporting compliance programmes or internal auditsIf you would like to know more, please contact me for a confidential discussion on why this role is a good match.Job Types
