Seeking an experienced Workers Comp Defense Attorney to join our client's mid-size firm in Chicago. As a Workers' Comp Defense Attorney you will be responsible for providing legal representation and counsel to companies defending workers' compensation claims. You will play a critical role in defending against the complex legal procedures and processes. Location : Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Handle defense of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution.
- Conduct thorough investigations to gather relevant evidence, including medical records, witness statements, and accident reports.
- Analyze and evaluate the merits of each case, identifying potential legal strategies and arguments.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and benefits under workers' compensation laws.
- Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel, and other parties to seek favorable settlements.
- Prepare and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Illinois State Bar Association.
- Minimum 3+ yrs. experience practicing workers' compensation law.
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
