About the Job
Lead North America manufacturing engineering operations. Oversee development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, leading a team of engineers to ensure efficient production, high quality standards, and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include designing and improving manufacturing techniques, equipment, workflows, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations are required.
What You Will Do
- Direct the North America manufacturing engineering group, focusing on process improvements to increase efficiency, eliminate waste, and enhance product quality using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, automation, IoT, and interactive applications.
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and implementing new manufacturing processes and equipment, managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, identify reduction opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, develop work instructions, and implement corrective measures for quality issues, maintaining PMEA and Control Plans.
- Collaborate with operations, design engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain departments to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Review product roadmaps with engineering and align operational capabilities.
- Coordinate with NPI teams, engineering, operations, and quality to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
- Develop standard practices and capabilities across manufacturing sites, fostering synergy.
- Manage departmental expenses and CAPEX budgets.
- Review GP and CM data and develop improvement initiatives.
- Travel up to 50% to manufacturing sites may be required.
What You Need
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, including process development, equipment selection, automation, tooling, and production optimization.
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Master’s degree in engineering management or related field preferred. DOE, Statistical Analysis, LEAN background highly desirable.
- 15+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics, with at least 5 years in management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Auto-Cad (LT), ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Mechanical fixture design experience.
- Factory automation experience.
Working Conditions
Standard office environment. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, perform manual activities, and lift up to 34 pounds occasionally. On-site presence at Hauppauge, NY required.
Salary range: $199,636 - $232,183, commensurate with experience.
