Opportunity: Task Force Chief Engineer
This opportunity offers a talented leader the chance to showcase their experience across the HHM Hotels portfolio as a Task Force Chief Engineer. The leader will manage maintenance teams on property and provide both short-term and long-term coverage as needed. The role requires working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, adapting to various projects across different hotel types, including full service, luxury, select service, extended-stay, and boutique properties within industry-leading brands and independent hotels. Flexibility for extensive travel throughout HHM Hotels' portfolio is essential.

Essential Job Functions
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring performance aligns with brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
- Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
- Manage bids, quotes, and contracts with third-party vendors.
- Oversee small projects or PIPS, managing and reporting on progress.
- Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings.
- Paint designated areas and items.
- Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
- Install, replace, and program televisions.
- Perform minor plumbing functions.
- Maintain and repair heating and cooling pumps, including preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, complete work orders, and keep accurate records.
- Maintain the hotel’s exterior and grounds to enhance curb appeal.
- Refurbish, paint, and finish furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Test and maintain hotel life safety systems to ensure full operational status.
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with service contracts.
- Perform work in accordance with local, state, and federal codes.
- Focus on guest satisfaction and work to improve departmental and overall guest scores.
- Follow sustainability practices in line with HHM’s EarthView program.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment, and adhere to MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of managerial hospitality experience is required.
- Previous experience with Marriott or Hilton is preferred.
- Ability to stay on-site for short-term or long-term coverage is required.
- High School diploma or trade school coursework in a related field is preferred.
- Previous engineer or maintenance experience, or equivalent training, is required.
- Certifications may be necessary.
Work Environment and Context
- Work hours vary and may include holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts.
- 100% travel across hotels in the United States is required.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

The salary range for this role is $85,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. HHM Hotels offers a competitive package aligned with market standards, with higher earnings potential for candidates with 5 years of relevant experience.
